Dec 1 - Showing Data in MS Excel

FIRST: Complete one last survey!

1. Go to your survey in GOOGLE DRIVE.

2. Open Excel.

3. Save as: Your name and Database Survey Results

4. Copy and paste all of the responses from Google Drive into Microsoft Excel.

5. Adjust column width so that all of the information can be read.

6. Make the column headings BOLD.

7. Choose one set of data and create a chart to show the data.

8. Copy and past the chart into a new powerpoint presentation.

Google Forms and Databases

Today we are going to learn to create an online survey using Google Forms. Then we are going to organize the data from our surveys using the database program Microsoft Excel.

Create Google account

Google Drive -> Create Form
  • Use a variety of different types of questions.
    • text
    • multiple choice
    • true/false
  • Make sure that the questions are clearly stated and there is a clear way to respond.
  • You must have 10 questions.
  • Questions can be about school, future studies, background information, preferences, opinion about different issues, etc.
    • Some EXAMPLE QUESTIONS
      • What is the name of your home province?
      • What school doyou attend?
      • What year will you graduate high school?
      • Which major is the most interesting for you?
  • When you have completed your survey, copy the link that appears at the bottom of the page.
  • Paste the link into a comment at the bottom of this post.
  • Refresh the page.
  • Complete the surveys that Mrs. Wright assigns you honestly and completely.
